Jalopnik’s Down on the Alameda Street

Jalopnik occasionally publishes an article that I really fall for.  The ’Down on the Alameda Street’ series of posts has been going on for awhile now, and a recent celebration of 450 cars has begun.  I happen to live right up the street from Alameda right now, and have seen quite a few cars parked on the street out here myself.  According to California law, a car must be legally registered and able to safely move on its own power to be parked on the street.  Obviously, there are occasional exceptions that slip by (like this 1971 Cutlass, for example) but it’s a safe assumption to say that any car parked on the street is driven daily.  There lies the excitement for me, since some of these are extremely cool.
