New Driving Law

30 Sep

I really think we should pass a law in every state, I don’t care whether it takes the independence away from an old person or not. You shouldn’t be driving a car if you’re over the age of 80. Maybe even less than that.

~Evel Knievel

If I could change any laws that have to do with automobiles or driving, I would require that the test to get your license be taken on a race track with other cars on the track and when you have your license renewed you need to re-take the test.  I’d probably do two pictures on it as well:  one of the driver just after the test, and one of the car.  That’ll make it easier to tell who’s “at fault” for insurance companies.

What automotive law would you change?

Freeway/highway driving, if you can’t do 70 get off the freeway, if theres no way to safely do 65-70 in a car on the freeway you shouldn’t be on trying. it causes people to have to slow down behind someone to make risky lane changes in front of people going faster. right lane should be 60-70 mph and left lane should be respectable driving speed to pass, with a laxed speed limit, not just cruising 130 pass every one but also not passing someone doing 69 in the right lane doing 70 right next to them for the next 4 miles till you pass them. as long as your not tailgating and going in and out of traffic there is very little that can go wrong. also drive right, like on the autobahn you don’t pass on the right. many times i have come up on a simi that was stuck in the left lane after moving over for a car coming on and every one just started passing on the right he couldn’t get back over, slowed down flashed lights, they move over then move in to the left lane to pass them much safer then trying to pass on the right. i’m a driver for a company that does prototype/preproduction testing and drive 100,000 miles on average a year in the USA and there are so many people that have no idea how to drive and cause senseless crashes and deaths.
